Zen’s Light mission is to foster global excellence in hope, grief care, and pediatric healthcare for families and children in need. We will accomplish this mission through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Our vision is a world without pediatric cancer:

1)    Quality of Life for Childhood Cancer Patients: In addition to funding cutting-edge research and making new treatments available to children with cancer, Zen’s Light will also fund grants designed to improve the quality of life and care as children battle cancer.

2)    Grief Care Programs: Zen’s Light raises awareness about the needs of children and teens who are grieving a death and provides education and resources for the parents and guardians who support them. Our programming includes community crisis support, grief support groups, school education sessions, professional workshops, and trainings. If a tragedy occurs in the school community (a student or teacher dies; there is a mass shooting in the area), Zen’s Light would be able to go into the school to help children cope with grief and teach them how to be sensitive to those who are grieving.

3)    Travel Assistance Program (TAP): The mission of TAP program is to ensure children battling childhood cancer have the financial assistance needed to travel to clinical trials, experimental therapeutics, or treatment innovations not currently available at their local institution. We provide families with lodging and travel expenses up front, rather than requiring them to apply for reimbursement. Zen’s Light will also help connect families with clinical trials that match their child's diagnosis and provide free treatment journals to help parents keep track of treatments.
